Sweet Orange Buns - Saveur.com

Dec 29, 2011 In this year's SAVEUR 100, we take stock of our favorite things: recipes, people, places. We consider every last one a new classic. By Dana Bowen EmailPrintSave Article Credit: Todd Coleman We all have our weaknesses. Mine are my friend Linda Worsley's sweet orange sticky buns, a soft and squishy yeast roll recipe, flavored with loads of fresh zest. We can always count on her to make them for brunch or dessert, and when she bakes them, the kitchen fills with an irresistible orange perfume as they puff up in the pan and brown on top. The preferred way to eat them is straight from the oven and almost too hot to handle, drizzled with an icing made with fresh-squeezed orange juice, confectioners' sugar, and plenty of sweet butter. Orange Spice Cookies | gastronomy

I dont mean to brag or anything, but these Orange Spice Cookies are Ludo-approved. The chef and I were both guests at a wonderful oyster tasting party last weekend where I brought these lovelies for dessert. Since Im usually the one dolling out criticism [See: LudoBites 2.0, LudoBites 3.0], I thought it was only fair to offer Chef Ludo the chance to scrutinize my humble creations. Theyre not too bad, he declared after a couple of hearty bites. Theyre good, he added as he polished off the final chunk. Granted, his praise wasnt glowing, but coming from the man who invented the black croque monsieur with ham, foie gras, and cherry amaretto jam, it pleased me to no end. Ludo likes my cookie! I yapped to anyone who would listen for the rest of the evening. What

Gluten Free Grilled Orange Chicken | Gluten Free Recipes | GF Diet

You know how you are at the mall, famished from all the shopping and bag carrying, and you go to the food court and some enthusiastic teenager pushes a piece of orange chicken at you to taste? Yes? Well I have a confession sometimes I really wish I could have a taste. I know it is fried and filled with gluten and probably about a thousand calories in just that one taste and that I shouldnt want to taste it, but I do. I dont taste it I WANT to taste it! After all, eating orange chicken used to be an integral part of my whole mall experience. I kind of want to hurt that guy for bringing up the idea of orange chicken to me in the first place. Here I was all set to have a nice healthy salad for lunch and now all I can think about is orange chicken. And so with some disappointment

Chef Scott Peacock, Watershed Decatur, GA on StarChefs.com

by Tejal Rao October 2007 When Scott Peacock took the chef position at the Georgias Governor Mansion, he wasnt cooking the regional classics he puts out today at Watershed. In the Greek Revival home, behind the redwood Doric columns of Paces Ferry Road, Peacock stuck to a classic French repertoire. It wasnt just that nobody wanted Southern food (and nobody wanted Southern food) Peacock had grown up watching Julia Child on TV and fallen for her cooking. Born and raised in Alabama, Peacock took his first industry job as pastry chef at The Golden Pheasant in Tallahassee, Florida, where he sailed an ocean of mother sauces on a swan-shaped boat of puff pastry. From there, Peacock moved to Atlanta to cook for the governor. more Recipes *Pimento Cheese* Shrimp and Grits *Roasted P

Will Cook For Friends: English Sticky Toffee Pudding, with a twist

(English Sticky Toffee Pudding with Orange and Ginger - recipe in post) Here in the states, if you ask for pudding you're likely to get some sort of cold, gelatinous custard... but that is hardly the extent of what pudding is. Pudding can, technically, be most any dessert - from the classic rice or tapioca's, all the way to dumplings, cakes, and trifles. If you've never had sticky toffee pudding, imagine this: A moist little cake, packed full of chopped dates, and drenched in a flow of hot toffee sauce. Now that's what I call pudding! (A huge hit with all of those lucky enough to steal a taste) English Sticky Toffee Pudding is a fairly traditional dessert - one which I respect, and love as it is - but being the rebel that I am, I decided to put my own spin on things. Enter: orange zest and
