Scarecrow - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A scarecrow is, essentially, a decoy. Traditionally, it is a human figure (or mannequin) dressed in old clothes and placed in fields by farmers to discourage birds such as crows or sparrows from disturbing and feeding on recently cast seed and growing crops.[1] [edit]History A rather ineffective scarecrow In Kojiki, the oldest surviving book in Japan (compiled in the year 712), a scarecrow known as Kuebiko appears as a deity who cannot walk, yet knows everything about the world. The 1881 Household Cyclopedia of General Information gives the following advice: Machinery of various kinds, such as wind-mills in miniature, horse rattles, etc., to be put in motion by the wind, are often employed to frighten crows; but with all of these they soon become familiar, when they cease to be of any use

Spencer Horsman eliminated in wild card results round

Spencer Horsman, brought back by Howard for the wildcard round, who escaped from a vest of locks while wet cement tumbled down on him, was eliminated along with ballsy balancing act Cristin Sandu. Hacky ventriloquist Todd Oliver and his dog/puppet Irving stays winning somehow. Horsman going home for a second time was unfortunate, but it was par for the course in a night that found the show's more middling acts moving on. Part of this must be placed on the judges, who temporarily turned the show into "The Voice" by celebrating their acts and only their acts, and as a result, never doing all that much judging which does indeed, guide the viewers at home. First up was Sebastien "El Charro De Orro," the Bandbaz Brothers, and Ben Blaque, all three of which would've made my top four. Sebastien w

Stuxnet, Duqu, Stars AndGalaxies

In few circumstances I happen to deal with my old (and short) career of Astrophysical. Except when I enjoy to tell my friends the history of the Hubble Constant, and my delusion when I discovered that its value is greater than 50 (most precise determination is 72 8 km/s/Mpc implying a forever expanding Universe which will likely die of Entropy), the chances in which my current activity, information security, and my would-have-been career of Astrophysics overlap are really rare. You may imagine how surprised I have been, when I came across this post by F-Secure concerning the Duqu malware and the images hidden inside the traffic generated by the malware and directed to the C&C Server. Typically keyloggers try to hide the malicious traffic by resembling legitimate traffic, and of co
