Picket News

Some psychologists believe the riddle's humor comes from the fact that its answer is expected to be funny, but is not. Since a chicken is an animal, it is unlikely to have a concept of a road in any sense - why would a flying bird need roads.

News Of The Tweet: Dem de Rulez

Spoiler alert, dressing like a goat and Seinfield [yawn] By Seb Kemp This past weekend the Claymore Challenge was on. I couldnt watch the live streaming of the events (seriously, how good is it that we have so much live streaming of events?) however, I was keen to find the results so I tuned into Twitter: the most reliable and rapid source of news and information for mountain bike events that dont believe in having a publicity officer on the pay role. [note: Highland Mountain has a publicity officer who did do a great job. @Highlanfd_MTN] Similarly for the #tdf which came to an end last weekend with the worlds best interview subject taking it away. But if you dont want to have the results handed to you like a slap in the face then there is help at hand. This is a fantastic way

The Official Guide to Legitimate Rape

Yesterday, Missouri Rep. Todd Akin, Republican Senate nominee and member of the House Science, Space and Technology committee, said pregnancy from rape was "really rare" because "if it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down." Akin quickly said that he "misspoke," but he didn't rescind his claims that women have magical sperm-defying ovaries or that there's a hierarchy when it comes to different "levels" of rape. If you're unfamiliar with the exciting concept that your uterus can pick and choose between various kinds of rape, don't fret. We have just the guide for you. Students Build Super Desktop Slingshot for Playing Angry Birds

Hideaki Matsui and Andrew Spitz, students at the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design, built the Super Angry Birds desktop slingshot controller as project for their Haptic (tactile feedback) technology class. With a hacked motorized fader (the kind found in audio mixing consoles) to create forced feedback, an Arduino-based microcontroller called Music & Motors developed at the CIID, and a programming in Max/MSP and Arduino, the real-life bird-slinger mimics exactly the tension and toss of the wildly popular Rovio game. They even built a custom TNT box for the birds whose abilities are amplified in the game when triggered by such a device. About their force-feedback USB controlled, the pair writes: Basically, the way we achieved this is by drawing a force curve and storing the values
