The Road to Naypyidaw: What Hillary Clinton Will See in Burma | World

As U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton makes her historic visit to Burma from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, she will be touring two vastly different cities. Clinton, the first U.S. Secretary of State to visit the isolated nation in more than half a century, first stops in Naypyidaw, the countrys capital. The vast, surreal city, which means the abode of the kings, did not exist when Clintons predecessor John Foster Dulles went to Burma, now known officially as Myanmar, back in 1955, before the countrys military junta wrested control from a civilian government. What we want is the disorganisation, the contrasts, the contradictions of the city and humanity. We want the sense of discovery. The designer environ

LAUREL -- Far away from any paved oval track, a legend, a rookie and some queens stood in a watermelon patch on Thursday afternoon all with sweat on their brows as the summer sun shined down. Shooting footage for a segment that will air on Speed TV's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Setup show prior to the Aug. 18 race at Michigan International Speedway, long-time driver Michael Waltrip and rookie Ross Chastain broke out some elbow grease to give a helping hand in harvesting some watermelons from the Givens Produce farm in Laurel. "This is awesome, it's a dream come true to have Michael Waltrip out here on this watermelon farm," said Chastain, who is the rookie driver of the No. 8 National Watermelon Promotion Board Chevrolet.
